It’s early days, and it may not seem like a lot of time has gone by, but trust me, each time you’ve helped us, a teacher, or another student, that help has been important. So – a big WELCOME (or Welcome Back)!
Here are some things that you may have done already, or we may still need to train you to do:
Display a positive attitude of “public service” - "How can I help you?"
Answer the phone(s) when needed. Use appropriate phone etiquette.
Assist with student check in and computer passes.
Check in new issues of magazines/newspapers. File magazine back-issues.
Run automated circulation system and overdue notices.
Pick up & deliver LMC mail, messages, and equipment.
Assist patrons with copy machine.
Trouble shoot printer. Unpack printer paper and place in cabinet.
Use/model computer etiquette.
Clean up and straighten.
Locate needed materials and/or supplies for patrons or staff.
Keep up display case and upper hallway bulletin board.
Please respond in 5-7 SENTENCES (not IM lingo) incorporating all of the items below. The first person to respond, responds to these items; each subsequent responder should reference the responses of others; the last responder must reference all of the previous responses.
In what ways have you assisted in enhancing the services that the LMC can provide to the school community. You may refer to the list above or include examples of things that you have done that you know have been helpful.
What new skills learned?
What can you do to improve service, organization, presentation, or outreach in the LMC?
