As you know, I will be retiring at the end of this school year. I would like some feedback from you, and some insight into your perspective, what qualities should the school look for when interviewing/hiring a new school librarian? If you were in a paid position in a library, you might be called upon to give input or provide insight into the qualities of the person that should be hired.
Please base this on your own experiences in the school library, and the needs that have been addressed or not addressed by the current holder of the postion (me). Please be polite, but do not worry about offending me. If there's something you would like to see in the new person, say it. If there is some quality that you hope the person doesn't have, say that, too!
